FAQ

Post and Packing

How are the prints packaged?

All prints and framed or hard backed items are packaged in  sturdy card board – either in high quality postal tubes or boxes, with the prints suitably protected with barrier paper inside.

Are the packages tracked?

Orders under £40 are not normally tracked but can be at extra cost. For orders over £40 the packages are tracked and you will be emailed the tracking code when your print is on its way. You will be required to sign for the package  and you will be notified of which service  is being used  in our acknowledgement email to you.

How long does delivery take?

The order is usually printed within 3-5 working days and is only dispatched once fully dried. If the print is to be framed or mounted, this usually takes an additional 2-3 days . In the UK, we usually use Royal Mail for print only orders under £40  with other orders via 24 hour courier which includes a tracking code. Overseas delivery takes longer usually dependent upon the location, typically 5-7 working days to Europe of North America.  If you prefer a quicker overseas service, then please EMAIL HERE.  If for any reason these production times are to be exceeded, you will be informed at that time. [i]Please note that printing and deliveries in December usually take longer due to increased volumes. Please EMAIL HERE to enquire the current print times.

What are the delivery charges?

These vary according to the product being sent and will show on your shopping cart at check out. As a guide, for print orders under £50 are usually sent by Royal Mail First class at a cost to UK of £5.95. Framed pictures and prints over £40 will be sent by  UK courier service is currently  £15.95 depending on the product. A surcharge is likely to be added for  deliveries outside the UK but we will email prior to putting the prints into production if this is the case. You may of course enquire about overseas delivery charges prior to ordering EMAIL HERE

What do I do if the package is damaged when it arrives?

If the package arrives damaged, write this on the deliverers’ paperwork when you are asked to sign for it. If it is obvious that the goods inside are damaged, then please refuse to accept the package although a slightly damaged package may not actually result in damaged goods inside. If you have time, please take a quick digital photo of the damage before opening the package.  Once opened, please examine the print and if it has been damaged, please again photograph the damage and EMAIL HERE with the images. We will then arrange with you to return the goods and a replacement sent or payment for the goods refunded.

How do I buy a print online?

Simply select which style of photograph interests you. For example a classic yacht  photograph in black and white. From the home page, click on the ‘Classic Sailing Yacht’ picture from which you will be offered the choice of ‘Black and White’ or ‘Colour’ images. Again, click on the relevant picture and you will be taken to the gallery of pictures.

When you see one of the images you like, click on the image and it will expand into a larger picture. From the drop down box immediately underneath the image, select the size of print, framing and display you require.  Under the drop down box you have two options – ‘Add to Cart’ Clicking on this tab will add your selection to the shopping cart.  Use this if you wish to select other prints to purchase.

Once you have completed your selection(s), press the ‘View Cart’ tab which shows your selection. Check that the order is correct or amend it.  The postage and packing cost is also shown here before the 'Total Cost' at the bottom of the table. If the items listed are correct, press the ‘Place Order’ tab at the bottom of the table. You will then be taken to the secure PayPal payment page which shows the products and a description you wish to buy on the left together with the Payment options on the right.  You can choose either to pay via a credit or debit card or, if you have one, your PayPal account.

About the Photographs

Who takes the pictures?

Me, Ian Badley.  I am a professional photographer, meaning I earn my living from photography.

What equipment do you use?

I have used Olympus, Fuji, Canon, Sony and Nikon in my photography, but for the majority of the time during my professional career, and for the past 20 or so years, I have used Nikon equipment interspersed by a couple of Canon years.  Cameras are only the tools of the trade however. Nikon and Sony currently fit my requirements.

My kit includes:

The full frame 36 megapixel Nikon D810 which is my main camera;

A full frame 36 Megapixel Sony A7r as backup

My leviathan brick, the Nikon D2XS which has been submerged a few times now and still provides wide angle and 2nd  back up.

To go alongside the cameras, I have a collection of pro lenses to suit the job from Nikon, Sony and Leica; filters from Lee; tripod a carbon fibre Gitzo; a Peli waterproof case; a couple of chamois, Musto Ocean waterproofs for the boats and Paramo Analogy for up the mountains, and many towels for when it's rough!
